Protect your Plot

This year we have an increase in reports of vandalism and thefts from various allotment sites in our area. The National Society for Allotments and Leisure Gardens have, in conjunction with Leicestershire Police, produced a guide to some of the steps we can all take to protect our plots.

Discounted entry to RHS Gardens

Thinking about some trips this year ? The Association has a reduced price entry card which allows one member plus a guest a 50% reduction on the normal adult entry rate to any of the Royal Horticultural Society’s five gardens :

RHS Wisley, Woking, Surrey
RHS Harlow Carr, Crag Lane, Beckwithshaw, Harrogate
RHS Hyde Hall, Rettendon, Chelmsford
RHS Rosemoor, Great Torrington, Devon
RHS Garden Bridgewater, Worsley, Salford, Greater Manchester

You need to take the Association’s card with you to obtain the discount so, if you are planning a trip, email the Membership Secretary at membership@banes-allotments.org.uk to borrow the card.

Funding for small projects

Now is a good time to think about site improvements. If you and other allotment holders on your site have some projects in mind the Association may be able to help with some of the cost. Take a look at our ‘Funding for Small Projects’ page for full details.
